Integrating Technology (Dr. Wall graduate school review)

1. Please give us some feedback by reflecting on your learning journey in one more blog posting. Here are some questions to guide you: •What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey? All the Cool tools to make stuff was fun! Google Docs, image generators ect. •How has this program affected your lifelong learning goals? It's made me really reflect on what I want to continue doing in the furture always learning and staying current. •Were there any take-a-ways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you? I took a way so many things it was all a great susprise. •What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept? nothing it's great •How will what you have learned influence your practice as a teacher? I know where I can find great ways to intergrate technology into my class from webquest to podcasts •How do you plan to keep up with new developments in web 2.0? Recommend a way that you have found to be useful. Keep adding and Keep Creating bookmarks and Rss feeds... 2. Where do you go from here? Some things you might want to do now are: I resolve to keep my blog esp. since I have had it for a long time and I am going to make sure I at least post once a week!

Creative Commons

Creative Commons! I love those video's they are so cute. I am definitely gonna show these to my class because wouldn't it be nice to have stuff you could just use without having to get permission and going through all the trouble. If the kids of the future are geared toward this how much information could we end up putting out for the world to use and share.

Teacher Pop sounds cool

Teacher Pop is an interesting place I signed up. Yet it's really all about learning about being online which is cool, but at the same time I think it has more potential it could be like the secrect collaborative social network for teachers now that would be cool. I don't know how they would make it super secrect since it is the web but it's a thought. Will certainly hook up my teacher pop mates and play with it more as the days go by. Who knows what wonderful resources I may find.

Podcast are gonna be big!

I was exploring podcasts I actually was doing that for a project I was working on although now I can't find the podcast I should have put it on de.li.ious huh lol Well I looked EPN and checked out the science podcast there It was actually pretty alright..... I just searched by subject and it came right. I did like this science podcast and it's more of a stay up to date one. Check it out! http://www.sciencemag.org/site/multimedia/podcast/index.xhtml

Animoto a great place to make videos

Making Video's Rock! What a great way to encourage your students to get creative and share about their life or make video's on learning activities to share! I enjoyed doing this because it allowed me to play a little bit more. And of course that's what I like to do esp when I work all day! Hope you enjoy my film!

YouTube a huge potential to be a great place to learn and share

I love Youtube and I esp love cute stuff like this! They have lots of song and dances and about science! Not only fun to watch but cool to include to teach! I have actually learned alot on youtube. I love it when I even see students posting educational video's up to share. I have watched about 20 or so today on photosynthesis it's just so cool....

From Myspace to Facebook as an educator

Face Book and Myspace My Myspace Page I never get on anymore lol http://www.myspace.com/thejenclassic Why is it important that educators know how social networking works? So that we know what kids today are interesting in, this is who we are trying to teach. This is how they network so we should be familar with what they have access to. What new insights did you gain about these popular sites? I've been on both for a long time but I did like the part about making a class group. What did you like or dislike about each of the sites you explored? Myspace is boring now because it's not as user friendly as facebook. Facebook is more friendly and fun it's not all about having a page...lol It's about you and your friends sharing laughing together. Which site had the most useful features? I like facebook more because you can create groups which really work for class settings. Can you see a classroom or school application for any of these sites?Lots of schools have facebook pages so students can communicate with the school about their likes and dislikes ects. You could have an informational type page on facebook for students to like and communicate on. I'd wiegh the pro's and the con's and talk with the administration first though.....
